Would someone explain the rationale for this move? Is he doing this just to install loyalists? At TSA and the Coast Guard?
Yep. Or actually, it's to get rid of them because they were too "woke."
When Biden assumed office, he issued a whole of government order to all the agencies to promote diversity in the federal workforce. Because he was the President (and Commander in Chief), the agencies followed that order. Now Trump has come in with different priorities. But since he views things in personal terms, he's firing all the people who followed Biden's orders as untrustworthy. Even though that was their job, and even though one of his main positions is that federal workers are supposed to follow the direction of the President.
