NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—Offering a remedy to last week’s devastating crash on global stock markets, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on Monday that the plummeting trend could be reversed if investors would drink high doses of cod liver oil.
“Stocks are crashing because investors are in a bad mood, and the reason they are in a bad mood is because they are not getting enough Omega-3 fatty acids,” he said. “This is what caused the Great Depression.”
Bolstering the credibility of his suggestion, he added, “Dr. Oz is with me on this.”
Kennedy’s prescription, however, was met with skepticism from financial experts, who noted that tariffs on cod liver oil had made the liquid virtually unaffordable. Borowitz

I seem to remember kids grimacing as mom poured a spoonful down their throats. My memory could be faulty though.
My mom never poured cod liver oil down my throat. However, she did give me vitamins with an eye dropper- heavily flavored with a suspiciously oily base.
The thing I remember about cod liver oil were the Saturday morning re-runs of “The Little Rascals”. Mothers in that series were forever shoveling tablespoons full of cod liver oil down their kids’ throats while the kids grimaced and their mothers held the kids’ noses.
Though I’m not at al sure about it, my mother may have employed guerilla tactics.

I keep a supply of King Oscar sardine tins and Polar kippered herring tins in my pantry.
You have to be ready when the mood strikes, and it always strikes when my wife is not in the house. She’s made it clear that this is the only appropriate time for the mood to strike.
Call it one of my little contributions to a harmonious household.
Or call it one of my little defenses against being accused of smelling like fish.
Either way- it seems to work.
She also detests olives.
Crazy woman….. but when we split a Greek salad at a restaurant, I get all the olive, so even that works out.
