As a moderate liberal (OK, I'm further left on some issues, particularly related to environmental issues), I side with albaby1 in these 'debates'. But I'm sure that a conservative would find a lot to agree with on Dope's side of the discussion.

And they would be wrong. Albaby sometimes gives his opinion, and anyone is free to disagree. But a lot of the time, he is correcting posters (not just Dope) on points of law, what is legal, what is illegal, and such. There really can't be much disagreement about the law**. They may wish the law was different, but it is what it is. So you can't -for example- sweep up a US citizen and deport them. You can't single out law firms with punitive executive orders. You can't violate due process. Coming to the US and requesting asylum is not illegal. Etc, etc, etc. The conservatives may not agree with those laws, but they are the law regardless. If they don't like it, they need to change it. Ignoring it is not cool.

**Though, some points are open to debate and interpretation, of course.
