He left only because his coup attempt failed.

“Support is often framed around election integrity concerns. Non-citizen voting is already illegal and rare”

And there’s the rub. It’s not a real issue. It’s a solution looking for a problem. I wouldn’t mind having universal voter id, if it was made easy and accessible to every citizen. But it’s not. The so called SAVE act is designed to massively purge the voter rolls of legitimate voters, primarily those who might vote against your party. Your president has said so himself. It is clearly, openly, and explicitly meant to choose your voters “for the next hundred years “, to quote your president.
