If you thought Wisconsin politics couldn’t get any dumber, your fellow Wisconsinites will continue to disappoint you. State Rep. Francesca Hong, a Democratic candidate for governor, is being accused of supporting Satan, or something similar.
Hong posted a picture of herself on “Earth Day” while wearing a baseball cap with “G G G” handwritten on it. MAGA Wisconsin thought it was “6 6 6.”

Comments in response included

“You need Jesus.”

”What are the sixes about? Are you telling us something?”

”Why is there a 666, the devils numbers, a symbol of Satan, on your hat?”

”What the heck is going on with your 666 devil worshiping hat?!?!”

”666 sign of the devil. Y’all aren’t even hiding it anymore.”

…Those are the nice ones.
But, but, but..
AJ Bayatpour, a reporter for CBS 58-TV asked Hong if she is indeed a Satan worshiper.

Hong spoke to CBS 58 virtually Friday ahead of a campaign event in Eau Claire. She said her son, George, had inscribed the hat with a marker about five years ago, when he was either 3 or 4 years old.
“When my son was learning how to write his name, he was excited to write the letter ‘G,’” Hong said.

But Wisconsin’s MAGA mouthpieces are not ones to let inconvenient facts get in the way of their rants. Right-wing talk show host Vicki McKenna described Hong as a “lunatic socialist from Madison, who wants hookers and weed and kids groomed, and she walks around in a Satan hat.”
And then this. Sigh:

McKenna and a spokesman for the rightwing state “think tank” the Badger Institute, Patrick McIlheran, both reposted a Tweet (X) with another wacky theory:

“The significance of “666” on Marxist Francesca Hong’s hat is loud and clear and there is no other conclusion that anyone can possibly find for the meaning of this. It has nothing to do with Revelations. Marxists don’t believe in God therefore would never reference the Bible in any way, shape or form.

The Marxist Archives numbers all of Lenin’s writings. It just so happens that Lenin’s telegram “666” to Zantonsky discusses “Crush the Polish landowners and the kulaks ruthlessly so that the farm hands, and the mass of the pheasants, [sic]feel there has been a sharp turn in their favour.”

It is NO coincidence that Hong just randomly posted this with her 666 WI hat on her head while pretending to be working in a garden on Earth Day.”

Charlie Sykes

Is there something in the water of Wisconsin that prompts the MAGA faithful to call everyone else “Satanists”?

Seems like a trend.
