Would he prefer ownership of an earning asset he is very happy with for the foreseeable future, or another ~$15bn in cash that will need allocation?
I think he would VERY much prefer the first.
Me too...I like the idea of the ~$1.25bn estimate of what Berkshire's OXY shares are likely to earn next year.
It's pretty likely someone buying out OXY would offer him equity in the merged entity rather than cash, maybe even with a sweetener.
Which he might conceivably take, but almost certainly wouldn't prefer.
