Thank you to whoever can provide a reasonable explanation, why are so many high PE stocks paying small dividends?

My guess:
Probably because many funds, both private & public, can't or won't buy shares of a company that doesn't pay a dividend.

So many many people believe that dividends are magical. Paying a small dividend takes care of that irrationality without doing any significant financial harm to the company.
