I was very touched that Ira and his wife made the trip over from Jersey to meet us at a nice little jazz club in Queens, while we were there visiting family.
They are both very interesting and personable, it was a real treat to spend a few hours with them. And as a bonus, we were all impressed with Club Ornithology...was more like being in someone's living room than in a club.
The moral of the story is don't pass up a chance to tie in with some of the folks who are on these boards.
