Or perhaps it really is true that the head of the BLS has little ability to affect the numbers that the BLS releases, as was said after Erika McEntarfer was fired.

Or perhaps Antoni hasn't been there long enough to put the right thinking statisticians in place. I expect we will see a difference in the reports in a month or two regardless of what people are experiencing IRL.
