I get a lower CAGR for 5 stocks: S&P500 Top 80 by (6m price change % + (0.5 × 12m price change %)) then ? SMA30/180 Top 50 then? ADV200 Top 5Hmmm.
I did a few tweaks and added a HTD, reset the start to 2/1/85 so it's the same as the Nas100 dates. No timing.
Averages: 19.0% CAGR, 33.3% GSD(252), -77% MaxDD
S&P 500 (VFINX) same period -- 10.8% CAGR
gtr1.net: GTR1 Backtester - S5Technical2026aThat last step "step4: [Average dollar-volume over 200 days; lag=1 days] Top 5" seems odd. Why this? Not quite sure where you could easily find this, as most data sites seem to have just the 10 or 20 day Average Volume. FWIW, chopping this to 20 days bumps the CAGR to 19.6%. Changing it to "[Average g-volume over 20 days; lag=1 days] Top 5" drops the CAGR to 17.0%
The top picks on 2025-11-28. A lot of the same names as the Nas100 RS-52wk screen.

Q: Is there any reason to run this considering that the NAS100 screen(s) are about 10 points better?
