President Trump, and those of us BEFORE him who called for major changes and curtailments and different priorities on immigration ----we won. Yeah Sheeple cried "xenophobe" and stuff - but we won.

Democrats are *dying* to say they signed immigration reform and get it off the plate.

Sadly I dont have faith in the Trump side to truly govern and extract things. If it were me, and I KNOW I'm calling the shots on this issue:

The bill that Trump thwarted is fine - perhaps easy to pass BUT:

1.)ENGLISH provisions that state - other than hospitals, in X years the multilingual stuff is GONE. Be more proficient in English as part of the application process. We *will* have a common language in this country.

2.)What's in it for us: Those with specific skills or qualifications that we could use go front of the line. IF diaspora from your country is well above the average on things like crime, gangs, drugs, welfare - well, that's a MINUS on your application.


I think it's the greatest opportunity in the world. We *need* a robust economy if we are to outlive our debt. So we NEED human capital. Not just entry level workers but skilled ones too. They WANT to come. We can cherry pick the good ones, let them improve their life, see them ASSIMILATE TO US, and them and us reap the economic benefits together. No more creating countries within the country. Let other Western nations get the sloppy seconds.


Sadly, I don't think we'll even try.
