Indian AI startup Ziroh Labs collaborated with researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, to develop an affordable system which it says can run large AI models without requiring advanced computing chips from the likes of Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Bloomberg News reported.
The company and the technology school have developed a framework called Kompact AI. Ziroh said the platform enables AI to run on the central processing units, or CPUs, found in common computing devices, compared to the costly, graphics processing units, or GPUs, that have been vital in the AI boom, the report added.
https://seekingalpha.com/news/4430040-indian-start...I am not sure if this is a negative for Google. It could lower their capital investments for AI servers, but also opens up the arena for more competition.
But it is definitely a negative for NVDA.
