Yes debt is a threat but crashed come in all varieties and lengths and recovery times and I am not able to predict any of that. Human ingenuity solved the "peak oil" issue, invention reduced the cost of TVs and computers massively, houses are twice as big in the US than 40 years ago....i.e. stuff mostly gets better over time, so millions of people showing up for work causes productivity improvements that generate more profit with less effort. Better just to plow ahead not to miss the very good years; most best days of the year are within two weeks of the worst days of the year so there is too much risk you miss the former when fearing the latter.
