Here are some news updates from various courtrooms across the country.

Tyler Boebert, 18 year-old son of Lauren Boebert was having a really bad day as of Wednesday, 2/28/2024. He was arrested in Rifle, CO after local police investigated a string of car break-ins and stolen credit cards and traced them to Tyler and three minors. As of Wednesday, the list of charges included:

* 4 counts felony possession of stolen ID documents
* 4 counts felony possession of stolen financial instruments
* 1 count felony conspiracy to commit a crime
* 4 misdemeanor counts of stealing ID documents (???)
* 3 counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor
* 3 counts misdemeanor petty theft of less than $300
* 3 counts misdemeanor criminal tresspass

??? What? It's a felony to POSSESS a stolen ID but merely a misdemeanor to actually STEAL an ID? Odd.

Tyler's world got worse on Thursday, 2/29/2024 when various outlets actually read the affidavit filed by the police officer who filed the charges. That document can be seen at:

The affidavit cites an interview the officer conducted with the step-mother of one of the minor females and that interview states that Tyler recorded himself having sex with the other minor female. The interview also indicates that recording was shared with at least one other person electronically. If true and if pursued, that means Tyler may also face statutory rape charges and distribution of child pornography which will make these other "mere theft" charges pale in comparison.

Tyler's an adult and mom Lauren posted comments to the effect that he should have to face the consequences of his actions like an adult. It's a shame there's no truly equitable means for a parent to face the consequences of raising a kid with such problems.

On Wednesday, 2/28/2024, Trump attorneys didn't merely "counter-offer" with a lower proposed bond payment of the $83 million dollar judgment against Trump, they filed a motion requesting a complete stay of the entire judgement. On Thursday, Carroll's lawyers filed a response stating essentially there is nothing about Trump's financial position or his track record of financial integrity that warrants trusting him to not pay the bond while appealing.

In another Atlanta courtroom on 2/27/2024, Trump attorneys filed a motion to eliminate over $900,000 in sanctions applied by a judge who had tossed out Trump's defamation lawsuit filed against Hillary Clinton for 2016 campaign related actions.

When a multi-billionaire cannot even afford a mere MILLION dollar penalty for abusing the court system which he seems to enjoy as a means of entertainment, it becomes increasingly hard to believe he's in the billionaire club at all.
