The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Trump is showing himself to be breathtakingly stupid and lazy, much to the surprise of no one with more than a handful of functioning brain cells.

Let’s unconditionally release hundreds of violent criminals and then spend money to cause food inflation to spike. What a frickin’ moron.

There is no quicker way to cause a long and deep recession, along with inflationary food prices, than to screw up California, which has the largest GDP of any state. California’s crop value is 59% greater than number 2, Illinois.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

California sends more money to the federal government than it gets back by a ratio of over 5 to 1. So when they’re in trouble, let’s withhold money to hurt them.

Like I said, Trump and the obsequious Republican Party is doing more damage to America than any of our enemies have done.

You can fix a lot, but you can’t fix stupid.

In 2023, California's gross domestic product (GDP) was about $3.9 trillion, comprising 14% of national GDP ($27.7 trillion). Texas and New York are the next largest state economies, at 9% and 8%, respectively. California's economy ranks fifth internationally, behind the US, China, Germany, and Japan.

The five states with the highest value of crop sales are California, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska. With its large horticultural sector, California's overall crop value of more than $33 billion (in 2017) is about 59 percent higher than that of Illinois, the second-ranked State.
