The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Another risk metric

The last few weeks have been brutal for the stocks in these momentum screens.
So I though of a new risk metric: How often does the screen have a loss month? If they are getting, say, 20% long-term return with half the months showing a loss, then a bad month isn't something to worry about.
Fairly easy to add that to my spreadsheet.

So, yeah, about one-thirds of the months have a loss. This is not a strategy for the weak at heart.
