The lesson the global left never learns is that you can't just throw open the gates to anyone without having some expectations on your new neighbors: learn the local customs. Bring who you are and add the strengths, but all the stuff that made the last place you lived bad? Yeah, we don't want that here.

The democrats never win on ideas; they seek to win on just upping the number of democrats that there are in the voting public by hook or by crook. Everyone else is aware that this notion has consequences, and until the democrats change they'll keep feeling them.
