And we might have lost our glorious revolution if it were not for the help from France.

At the surrender of Cornwallis after the Battle (siege) of Yorktown, Cornwallis surrendered with his 5000 British troops, along with about 3000 German Hessians.

Washington's forces numbered 8-9000 American troops- mixed regular and militia.

And over 10,000 French troops and sailors under Lafayette (the French fleet was offshore, preventing British resupply)
