In the end, it’s not the political system that generates the body count. It’s the self delusion of authoritarian leaders who believe they are the people’s retribution and that they embody the nation’s will.

It’s about authoritarian leaders who conjure up enemies to hate, whether immigrants, Jews, gypsies, trans or “capitalist runningdogs”, and use state power to suppress, deport or eliminate them in some final solution

It’s about paranoid narcissists who proclaim “I am the state”, and who view their political opponents, the press, and the judges as “enemies of the people” if they don’t kowtow to him.
