Sensible move by both camps.

DeSantis is learning that it's different being a national candidate vs a state powerhouse and national icon on his respective side. (This writer has said here.....that I doubt DeSantis is a national candidate even when Ron was hot in the polls...). So when you are sinking - sometimes a Hail Mary means you have nothing to lose, but something to gain.
A decent performance would re-endear him to the Base.... "Look at Ron, taking on that woke California Hollywood they/them pronoun toting Liberal"

Enter Newsom - whom I wrote about long ago on TMF has a potential very talented. intelligent, and charismatic President. A forceful performance by him would have MANY on the Left base thinking "Finally!!!! Someone stood up to these bible thumping gun toting jag offs and finally we didn't just have to take it, being called Woke, and Radical and all that crap".

Governor Gavin has been, would be wise to continue to support Biden, even at this debate. Nixon supported Goldwater, Goldwater went, and Nixon's goodwill with those people helped him get the nomination. Same with Governor Gavin.

I usually dont watch the news - as it is a reflection of a Tribal Society that will never ever be a Nation-State again -- -but yeah, this I would like to watch.
