One of those swept through Michigan in the mid 1800’s- spreading from crown to crown, creating its own atmospherics and outracing any efforts to contain it. Burned a swath across the state that destroyed 3 million acres Y’all have had a few fires like that recently, though not quite on that scale.
Northern Ontario is as inaccessible as Michigan was in the mid-1800’s .
Down here, a fire can easily escape efforts to contain it, in spite of all the planes, helicopters and good highway systems.
