We discussed the Trump phone scam a few days ago.
Trump Mobile quietly rewrote its fine print to say the gold Trump phone may never be made, a year after taking $100 deposits
A year after followers of President Donald Trump put down $100 deposits for a Trump-branded gold phone, not one has shipped, and a recent change in the fine print has some worried they may never arrive.
Last month, the company behind Trump Mobile, T1 Mobile LLC, quietly updated its preorder terms and conditions to clarify that it “does not guarantee that a Device will be produced or made available for purchase.”https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/trump-mo...It's been a long time since I took contract law in b-school, but, sticks in my mind, when a person accepts an offer, with certain stated terms and conditions, and provides "consideration", ie a cash deposit, it is a contract. One party can't come back a year later and change the conditions at it's whim.
Of course, the cynics will say that a $100 deposit is not worth the legal costs of suing.
Not surprisingly, I have been waiting for the day we see "JC" oriented "contract reform", where contracts are only binding on Proles, but not "JCs", in "JC"/Prole contracts, because honoring the contract would be a "burden" on the "JCs".
