The Daily Beast only claims that it's "a source". For the record, that isn't evidence. They're also too biased for my taste (left-leaning in this case) and don't have a great record of factual reporting. So I don't trust Daily Beast to tell the truth.
Listen, I'm no fan of Scarborough and Brzeinski. Don't watch them because they do a lot of speculation and they aren't entertaining to me. I'm responding because this is part of the core division in this country. One side making claims about the other with no facts to support it, just an attempt to "score points" with those in their echo chamber. That behavior isn't going to make things better, it makes things worse.

Morning Joe has been Ground Zero for a lot of the Trump Is Literally Hitler stupidity. It doesn’t take much of a stretch to think that the corporate bosses up at NBC wouldn’t be keen on having their network become the poster child for bad assassination coverage.

The question was "who is this source?" The source must be a person (or perhaps some tangible evidence, like a piece of paper). It isn't CNN or The Daily Beast or MSNBC or Fox. It's a person.
Granted, news organizations have long protected their confidential sources, including the willingness to go to jail to protect that confidentiality. This doesn't sound like one of those cases.
I don't trust The Daily Beast. You don't trust CNN. That's fine. What I'm after is the person. That's the source. Simply saying that it's on CNN doesn't cut it.
