Trump Detects Michigan Election Fraud Before Michigan Holds the Election
Why wait for voters to reject your candidate when you can accuse them of cheating three months in advance?

“Trump has already rejected the result of an election nobody has voted in.”

Donald Trump has uncovered another stolen election. The impressive part is that Michigan has not held it yet.

Abdul El-Sayed had barely finished winning the Democratic Senate primary when Trump rushed to Truth Social to announce that the November election would probably be rigged. There would be fake mail ballots, crooked officials, suspicious vote totals, and presumably a van full of undocumented communists circling Detroit with photocopiers.

Most candidates wait until they lose before blaming fraud. Trump understands that good conspiracy theories require preparation. You cannot spend election night inventing evidence when you could have invented it during breakfast in August.

His proof was familiar: capital letters, random quotation marks, and the solemn assurance that everybody knows something nobody can demonstrate.

Trump also claimed Wayne County casts more votes than it has voters. This accusation is especially useful because Wayne County includes Detroit, and blaming Detroit has been a Republican tradition since sometime around the invention of Motown.

The strange thing about these supposedly brilliant election thieves is how selective they are. They can manufacture thousands of invisible voters, smuggle fraudulent ballots past armies of observers, and alter an election without leaving usable evidence. Yet they somehow forget to rig every congressional race, state legislature, county commission, and school board contest on the same ballot.

Apparently, even fictional fraud has a budget.

Trump told Republicans they must make the election “TOO BIG TO RIG.” That sounds less like an election strategy and more like something printed on the side of a discount pickup truck.

It also reveals the basic rule of Trump-era democracy. A Republican victory is legitimate. A Republican defeat is evidence of a criminal plot. The acceptable margin is whatever number prevents Trump from spending the evening rage-posting accusations against voting machines, postal workers, and cities with large Black populations.

El-Sayed’s other offense was having a name Trump could say in a frightened voice. He supports Medicare for All, campaign finance reform, and ending military aid to Israel. In today’s Republican Party, that apparently makes him a communist. The definition now includes anyone who believes insulin should cost less than a car payment or that senators should not come with corporate sponsorship patches.

November is still months away, but Trump has already rejected the result, accused the election workers, blamed mail ballots, and warned his followers that defeat can only mean fraud.

The voters have not voted. The ballots have not been counted. Nobody has won or lost.

Trump is already standing beside the empty game board, pointing at everyone else and yelling, “Cheater.”
