I remember that thread…dipped my toes in the water and sold all my BRK in the Roth IRA at $472, and felt seller’s remorse. Sat on my ass and watched as it climbed even further. I couldn’t take it any longer, and got itchy fingers. I sold a much more sizable lot, i.e., the entire BRK holding that was sitting in my non-taxable rollover IRA at a little over $540 — also, with no immediate taxable event. I’m almost a strict buy and hold (and add), and have ever rarely timed anything perfectly in my investing lifetime, nor do I want to, except this time. The fewer the decisions, the better off I am. Pure dumb luck, but with all that cash sitting in short term treasures I’ve yet to redeploy into anything else. That’s the difficult decision…when to get back in.
