When you call someone a liar, you are not only calling their statement wrong but are also asserting that they knew it was wrong when they said it but did it anyway in order to achieve some nefarious purpose. So called lies could have roots in a bad memory or an actual change of position based on new information. It is not always clear.

I know this quite well and I did not call you a liar - I said you got lied to and repeated the lie to us.

"MIKE GOT LIED TO, AND HE REPEATED THE LIE TO US (he believed it though)." So I want to be very clear - you are not a liar in my book, just a little mislead. :)
