At one point, protesters attempted to force their way into the facility, eventually breaking through a glass door with a pole-like object. In 2020, *armed* demonstrators moved from outside the Michigan capital building to inside. iirc, they did not do a lot of material damage, and did not breach the line of MSP troopers that blocked the entrances to the state House and Senate chambers, but it was a disquieting scene, that could easily have gone sideways.
But these people were Trumpers. Apparently, that makes a difference.
