...to the applause of a feckless and complicit GOP Congress, and the cheers of a gullible MAGA base.

He has given the Dems a problem. Nobody among voters sheds tears for Iran (well, almost nobody). If Dems come out against the attack, they can (and will) be painted as weak and unpatriotic. Whether or not the attack was legal. They need to walk the tight-rope between "WTF?" and "Iran deserved it". I suspect most voters don't know the law, and are leaning towards the latter.
