The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Andromeda: You have been caught and played like a fiddle...total of 563 strikes, largely by drones, targeted Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen during Obama's two terms, compared to 57 strikes under Bush...was only around as president for a very short time but still long enough to be hanged for supporting the Indonesian invasion of East Timor, which makes Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait look trivially small...Nixon, poisoning livestock in Cuba...

Well, someone's a Noam Chomsky fan. But gee, you left off Dengue Fever in Cuba.

We could discuss for days whether or not the United States made verbal promises or tricked the Soviets on NATO expansion, and there's plenty of evidence on both sides of the issue to keep the discussion hot and heavy for quite some time but there is one inescapable fact: there never was a written agreement.

Nitpicking here, but why mention the expansion of drone strikes by Obama over Bush (side note: Obama, started publishing drone strike casualties in about 2015, a policy which Trump ended under his administration) and leave off that Trump escalated drone strikes by several times the accelerated rate of Obama? Just curious.

And also, I don't seem to see much in the way of criticism of Russia -- just the lovely humanitarian efforts of Mother Russia.

You suggest every American president since Truman should face a war crimes tribunal, but not the Russian leader?

Finally, shorter paragraphs and paragraph breaks are your friends.

As are links and evidence.
