CNN has provided daylong saturation coverage of the podcaster Charlie Kirk’s funeral and the New York Times live blogged the memorial. CBS provided extended coverage, as well, along with MSNBC and others.
When Melissa Hortman, speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, was murdered, CNN devoted four minutes to her memorial, less time than they gave the Jeff Bezos wedding.
In fairness, the Kirk memorial enabled broadcasters to propagandize the QAnon dog whistles Stephen Miller rattled off, including "I am the storm" and "Light out of darkness" without explanation or comment.
I mean, it's not everyday that a Hitlerian speech breaks out at a memorial service, so, umm, I guess that was 'news.'
