The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Warren initiated the GOOG position

good to see.

Merits of the investment aside, I am struggling to understand why it's a good thing that Warren initiated the position, if that is in fact what happened.

How will Greg have conviction in the position if Warren initiated it? Weren't all Todd Combs' positions sold after he left because nobody else had any conviction in them? How is this any different?

It's fine for Warren to provide guidance and counsel when asked by Greg. But if it's true that Warren is still initiating/leading investment decisions, I think he is doing Greg and everyone else a disservice and undermining confidence. Please correct me if I am wrong. I want to increase by confidence in Greg, but this bit of news, if true, is not helping.
