Just confirming what we all already know:

HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

That Kristi Noem is stupid? That she, after serving as the governor of a state has no clue concerning the foundational right that undergirds all other rights we possess as citizens?

That may be. Certainly, her vacuous smile beguiled South Dakota voters and Cory Lewandowski…

But my money is on something more sinister.

The authoritarian playbook DEMANDS the redefinition of fundamental legal terms, rights and laws.

And with Kristi Noem, we see that program underway.

Will it succeed?

With the answer to that question, we’ll find out whether or not the American people deserve the constitutional form of government they have taken for granted.
