Universal health care is obviously possible.
UHC is obviously possible. Transitioning from a massive private system into a UHC system is not "obviously" possible - it's never been done at this scale before. It's possible in the literal sense that it wouldn't violate the laws of physics, of course. But it's hard to see how a transition that would make so many discrete politically organized groups of people (unions, retirees, possibly everyone who works in health care, etc.) materially worse off while delivering diffuse benefits to the broader population could ever actually happen.
