Remember when Joe Biden personally controlled the price of gasoline?

Republicans certainly seemed to.

For years, every increase at the pump was treated like a message directly from the Oval Office. Gas went up ten cents and you would have thought Biden had sneaked out before breakfast, climbed a ladder, and changed the Exxon sign himself.

The president did that.

Those were the rules.

Well, Donald Trump is president now.

And the national average for regular gasoline is about $4.11 a gallon, roughly a dollar higher than it was a year ago.

Funny thing, gasoline has suddenly become very complicated.

Now we have to understand global petroleum markets, refining capacity, shipping insurance, inventories, demand forecasts, tanker traffic and something called the Strait of Hormuz.

Where was all this fascinating economic sophistication when Biden was president?

Apparently locked up with Hunter’s laptop.

Trump promised energy dominance. Instead, Americans are standing beside their cars watching the numbers on the pump spin like a slot machine while the administration assures them that everything is going beautifully.

I’ve been in the waiting room for the last six hours while my car is being serviced. Hence all of my posts today..... except for the first few which began while it was still dark. My alarm was set for 5:45, but at 4 a.m. My eyes popped open and it was just one of those times when I knew that trying to get back to sleep was a futile exercise.

Good news for you guys! My car should be ready in a few minutes and I won’t be looking at my phone till tonight.
