I'm not sure that BNSF is a good comparator for GOOGL.
BNSF makes an adequate return; partly capped by law and by its regulator STB, and is essential to the US economy.
GOOGL makes an above average return, possibly even super normal return. Has many competitors that could provide the advertising services that it provides. And I'm not sure it's essential to the US economy. That last bit is certainly up for debate, but I would say there are lots of competitors that would jump in to provide any number of Google services if they were to vanish.
