Last week, a lot of people started squawking that the MOU did not require the destruction of Iran's missile and drone forces. When asked about that, Trump did not see a problem, and said that Iran has a right to defend itself. Israel, and it's bought dogs in Congress, had an apoplectic fit.
Of course, Trump's statement is probably more 17D chess: make friendly noises to Iran, so they don't close the Strait, until after the election, but that is just my interpretation.

Given that Turkey, like Iran, is a LOT bigger than Israel, Israel is probably expecting the US to fight that war for them too. This jet engine sale to Turkey has Israel, and it's bought dogs in Congress, having another apoplectic fit.
