The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Trump: Iranian naval blockade stays until Tehran agrees to nuclear deal - Axios

"They are choking like a stuffed pig. And it is going to be worse for them. They can't have a nuclear weapon," he added.

jpost.com - Iran news

Before the Big O's team negotiated the JCPOA, Khamenei the elder, head of the Iranian government, had issued a Fatwa prohibiting the development of nuclear weapons by Iran.

A fatwa by Ali Khamenei, then supreme leader of Iran, against the development of nuclear weapons[1] dates back to the mid-1990s.[2] The first public announcement is reported to have occurred in October 2003, followed by an official statement at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, in August 2005.

Of course, people who did not want to hear it, declared the Fatwa meaningless, as it was, according to them, subject to abrogation at the convenience of the Iranian government.

If those interested parties refused to believe that Iran swore off nukes then, why would they believe that Iran would swear off nukes now?

The entire negotiation thing is nothing but a kabuki dance.

Trump the Conqueror said it out loud today. He wants Iran to cry "uncle", to give up. The chances of the Iranian regime surrendering are pretty slim. The chances of the Iranian people accepting "Prince Reza" an Israeli Quisling, as their head of state, is also pretty slim. If anyone in Iran has any doubt, their grandfathers will explain why they don't want any part of the Pahlavi tribe.

So the stalemate goes on.
