I for one could do without the poster's opinion, in a pinch - more important is that there be some indication of what the link is pointing to.

For instance, for a link pointing to a Berkshire press release, examples of comments I would like to see, in order of increasing preference, are:

(i) Berkshire Hathaway: PDF document
(No comment at all, just a link, and I'm not going to click on it)

(ii)This is fantastic!

(Opinion has been expressed, but it's still not worth much to me, I still have no idea about what information might be in the link and I'm still not going to click on a naked link)

(iii) Berkshire just put out a press release indicating Q2 earnings will be released at approx. 7:00 Saturday August 8th Berkshire Hathaway: PDF document
(Useful, and saves me even clicking on the link)

(iv) Berkshire Q2 results on Sat. Aug 8th. My principal hope is that we will find out whether they were still repurchasing shares at the end of the quarter.
