Texas, after arresting these folks, will now jail them, try them, and incarcerate them, costing the state thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of dollars for each migrant. These migrants will no longer be eligible for expedited removal but will now go through full immigration court proceedings, which is exactly what they wanted in the first place, costing yet more money and taking yet more time.

I wondered what the process was going to be for these "arrests". The only way Abbot should win is if he's figured out a way to immediately deport them and they can't dome back. "How could he accomplish that?" I wondered. If he's just jailing them and they get regular process, he's just pissing out money and wasting people's time.
