Storyliving by Disney is progressing in the planning of Asteria, its second master-planned community that includes 55+ housing. Home sales in the community, in Chatham Park, NC, just outside the Research Triangle, are expected to begin in 2027.

The North Carolina community is second to Cotino in Rancho Mirage, CA, announced in 2022 and projected to open later next year.

Plans for the 1,500-acre Asteria community include more than 4,000 residential units including single-family and duplexes, with some home sites specifically designated for adults 55+. The Second Star club will offer an adults-only pool, family-friendly pool, playground and tennis and pickleball courts. The project is being developed in collaboration with DMB Development, and homes will be built and sold by third-party homebuilders.
