No. IIRC, the Trump admin was trying to strong arm local police departments into rooting out illegal immigrants. This was not a good idea. If you force local systems to ferret out illegals, illegals naturally get concerned and don't want contact with police. Cooperation goes down. It radiates into the entire barrio, not just illegals. Our murder solution rate has dropped from 90% down to 60%, and in 2020 went below 50%. While we don't know all factors, those actions by the Trump admin definitely hurt it. Couple that with what the younger generations say is police crime caught on video tape. Sanctuary just meant we won't let the Trump Feds strong arm us.

In the Philippines Duterte came out with operation Oplan and then the murder rate went from 9.5 to 11.5 later as the police were turned onto the drug community. The murder solution rate was very poor, around 22%, it's now below 20% so no one publishes it regularly.

There is a lot of crime of illegals on illegals and a lot of it goes unreported and Trump's policies didn't help. The policies were hits with his base, but you want crime to be reported and for everyone to cooperate with the police.
