Kevin Carpenter who writes the Kingswell newsletter on Berkshire posted on X earlier today that Warren will not be up on stage at next year's annual meeting.
Susie Buffett said Abel will handle the Q & A because that's how Buffett wants it, Berkshire's founder feeling it's appropriate that Abel, who by then will be CEO, take on the task.
"I'm not going to be up there" she recalled him saying in revealing his decision to her. "I'm going to leave it to Greg."
I'm guessing that Greg will also be writing the annual letter to shareholders, but who knows.

I'll take the other side of that guess. The next annual letter will be that prefacing the 2025 annual report. WEB is scheduled to remain as Chairman until 31 December 2025.
I'm thinking instead it will a venue for a Farewell Address.

(George Washington used his, in part, to warn against partisanship, and Eisenhower's warned of the then-nascent military-industrial complex.
So a potential tentative conclusion about the Farewell Address genre might be: fun to read, accurate, but they don't do any good.)

You and me both. It would be more appropriate, I think, for Buffett to write the annual letter for the last year, 2025, when he will have been CEO and chairman for the whole 12 months. After that, while he will remain chairman, Abel as CEO should probably write the letter, and if so, it may be 2 years before we see Abel's first letter. Better still, Buffett could write the annual letter summarizing 2025 but Abel could write a short letter highlighting not the previous year but his intentions for his first year as CEO.

I'll put my vote down for two letters, one by Mr B (philosophical), one by Mr A (current and future results).
Assuming, of course, Mr Buffett is still in fine shape.

Selfishly, I was hoping Warren would sit in “Charlie’s chair” next May, but we should not be surprised with his decision and the respect to Greg as CEO. Hope Warren(and all of us) are given a special farewell piece of writing, commentary and a piece of history within the 2025 report. He wrote a very touching letter to his BPL limited partners in 1969-70 when he wound down the partnership. First-class throughout his entire career!
