...the Republican Party has evolved. It no longer is the party of Big Business. It's a populist party, a nationalistic party. They don't care much for rich fat-cats...

But rich fat cats very much care about the Republican Party, at least many of them do, and that is where the party is getting much of its funding. There will be quid pro quo for these mega donors. They are not buying the Republican Party for no reason.
