The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

This is not meant to be a partisan political statement, but rather a reflection of current geopolitics and psychology.

There is going to be a meeting today between Putin and Trump with no one else present except for interpreters. Trump stated that, within two minutes he will know whether a deal is possible. Putin has indicated that, besides the Ukrainian "problem", he wants to talk about the Arctic - as both countries are "Arctic Powers".

I believe there is a possibility that the "land swap" involving Ukraine will go something like "Give me Ukraine and I'll give you Greenland".

Having recently visited bo5th countries, I can tell you that nearly every Canadian loathes the idea of being incorporated into the US. Well, Greenlanders hate that idea even more.

We live in a country where its worth the tick of inflation to increase tariffs to our "ally" Brazil to punish them for the "witch hunt" of their putting a former president on trial for a coup attempt causing a "violation of human rights". Every American should think about how much this issue is costing them every time they buy a cup of coffee and consider how irrational it is.
