The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

There is a cultural matter Modi won't get past, no matter what.

Perhaps I am cherry picking, but it is a major part of Indian history. The English need not apply. Even American English need not apply.

A good friend of mine who set me up in my software stack to create my video game was a student in London, originally from the UAE. He is part of the Indian diaspora. I asked him about his days as a student in London. There was plenty of anger there. I assured him I am Irish. I got entry to the "club".

Trump may have purposely offended Modi and or India with his arrogance. Maybe? Yep. Don't hold your breath waiting for the Indians to come back to the table.

The world is complex, and so is Modi. Really, Trump is not at the table for India. Meaning he is offering the Indians nothing.

Our interest is in Apple manufacturing here in the US instead of in China, India, or Vietnam.

It is a big deal and we may have won this round. It ain't pretty.
