The people of Israel vote in a few weeks. We will see if they want to continue on their present path, or apply for readmission to the human race.
What do you think getting off the present path involves? Is it just about Gaza?
My understanding is that support for an independent Palestinian state - the "two state solution" - is pretty much dead in Israel. The election may turn out Netnayahu's coalition from power, but any other government will also reject Palestinian statehood. Perhaps just as firmly as the current government. It's now pretty much a core position of the electorate to oppose Palestinian sovereignty, and the new government (if there is a change) will certainly reflect that.
