And you side responds bbbut... bbutt Trump is evil Hitler. And you have your reasons for believing that is paramount. You just need to accept that is a minority opinion. Own it.

This. They forgot that elections are ultimately about issues that voters care about and the democrats went out of their way to ignore Bill Clinton's team's advice: "It's the economy, stupid". I knew we were in better shape when they started trying to play the "but real wages are rising faster than inflation" thing - when you have to try to explain why you don't suck using numbers that you have to squint at...you're not winning the argument.

The left did that and tried to gaslight everyone on how badly a job Team Biden was doing all over the place. They either really believed that or figured they'd lie about it while also thinking that if they chanted HITLER enough that people would vote for more of the same...
