At some point I think the US is going to become an autocracy. Or maybe a plutocracy. The people -mostly uneducated, but not entirely- vote for that all the time. It's a slow creep, at least until 2025. Then it accelerated.

With surveillance states popping up all over the world (in the name of "security"**), including China and Britain and the NSA is into everything, and cheap -sometimes armed- drones (more security!), and the press that has become a propaganda machine owned by a few plutocrats***, we're going to slide right into it.

Orwell was right. He was just off by a few decades (I'm guessing maybe 6).

Some parts of the world are closer to this, some not as close as us. But we all seem to be moving in that direction.
