Not really. Before the Canadians built their pipeline to the Pacific Ocean export terminal, the oil was "trapped" in central Canada--so it was sold at a *lower* price to US refineries that would use it. However, that all changed when the Keystone XL pipeline was planned. Per the official TransCanada report filed with the Canadian govt BEFORE the pipeline was approved IN CANADA, their estimate was the HIGHER PRICE of that Canadian oil would add an additional US $5B/yr to US farmers, truckers, consumers, and so on. So, Spankee raised the price to US consumers (etc) EVEN HIGHER with his Iran War.
