It’s 100% the point and refutes the notion that just raising taxes is the answer. It’s not.

It doesn't refute the point. Just because raising taxes to 100% is bad doesn't mean raising taxes to 37% is bad, any more than the fact that cutting your food intake by 100% would kill you means cutting your food intake by 5% will make you less healthy.

Claiming that Tax Cut X from decades ago is the cause of all ills is not a great argument. It’s just not backed but up reality.

No one claims it's the cause of all ills. I'm pointing out that if we hadn't adopted the two massive tax reductions - both within the last 25 years - then our fiscal house would be in much better shape. And that if we reverted back to 2001 tax levels - which are a vast distance away from 80-90% - we could get our fiscal house in much better shape even now.

Claiming that spending choices from decades ago are the cause of all ills is not a great argument. It's just not backed up by reality.
